Meet Christina Fritts, The New Vice President of Advancement

Christina, who joined the Museum in 2022 as Director of Membership & Insights, is taking on an exciting new role as Vice President of Advancement. The Museum is lucky to have Christina, who brings a powerful dedication to cultivating relationships and resources that are invaluable to furthering the Museum’s mission to ignite our community’s passion for nature and science. 

To learn more about Christina, we asked her a couple of questions:

Explain what you do as a Vice President of Advancement. 

As the leader of our advancement division, I oversee our philanthropy and membership & insights teams. As a group, we build meaningful, lifelong relationships and grow resources to further our mission. This means leveraging community research to better understand and deliver on expectations across all audiences, using data to understand audience behavior and inform decisions, delivering the best membership program that appeals to tens of thousands of Colorado households, and connecting with all kinds of folks to help them achieve their philanthropic aspirations. 

Are you working on any current projects that you would like to highlight?  

I can’t take credit for these but would love to highlight some amazing projects my team is working on. The team has done a tremendous amount of work to reignite engagement among members of our Edwin Carter Legacy Society, young professionals and development volunteers and our corporate supporters. In addition, we are looking at reimagining our membership programs to better meet the evolving needs of our community. And last (but certainly not least), we are working very hard to finalize support for the Nature Play project and kick off support efforts for the new Gems & Minerals exhibit.  

What do you look forward to in your new Museum position?   

I’ve had the joy of getting to know my team for some time now and am excited to take this leadership position. I look forward to fully unlocking the potential of this amazing group of people that love the Museum. They all are super smart and have a strong passion for our community, our members, our volunteers and our donors – it's truly wonderful. I am also excited to get to know more people – internally and externally – that support the Museum in so many ways.  

What is your favorite hobby? 

It’s hard to pick just one favorite. I enjoy a variety of things and often say it’s more about who I’m with than what I’m doing! During the summers, I love starting weekends with one of Colorado’s amazing hikes, hosting a big Sunday brunch for friends and travelling with family. I try to spend most winter weekends up in the mountains snowboarding and taking in all the beauty Colorado offers. I’m also a big Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche fan, and I love going to sporting events!  

Where did you study?  

I graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a focus on Economics and Political Science and I received my M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.   

What are you passionate about, personally and/or professionally?  

Professionally, I am passionate about leadership. I love leading engaged, high-performing teams and developing future leaders. And personally, I am passionate about enjoying life to its fullest with my family. We are a curious and adventurous crew – we love trying new things, travelling to new places, and experiencing life together.
