Strategic Plan Update

A new play area is coming to City Park!

On Tuesday, Jan. 24, the Museum and Denver Parks & Recreation broke ground on the four-acre, multi-sensory natural play experience that will restore the historic waterway in the southeast corner of City Park while showcasing the diversity of Colorado’s ecosystems through natural features and play experiences. This nature play experience is the newest project by the Museum’s Nearby Nature initiative in collaboration with Denver Parks & Recreation. Designed with more than five years of input from thousands of community members, this area will be an immersive experience that is   accessible to multi-generational families, offering multi-sensory exploration, respite and play. Construction will be complete by the end of 2024.
